The U.S. Department of the Interior protects America’s natural resources and heritage, honors our cultures and tribal communities, and supplies the energy to power our future. The Department of the Interior consists of five bureaus as well as numerous other offices, and therefore provides a variety of different experiences. The Department of the Interior offers internship opportunities in its eight bureaus, the Office of the Secretary and DOI University. I graduated from UGA (Go Dawgs!) in May 2009 with B.S. Environmental Health Science and will be graduating from Virginia Tech with an Executive Masters of Natural Resources, Leadership in Sustainability in 2014.  I have four years working as an environmental consultant specializing in Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Compliance. My current position consists of starting an office/branch in the D.C. Metro area with an engineering/environmental firm called Alfred Benesch & Company (www.benesch.com). Responsibilities include marketing, sales, business development, executing projects and developing and leading a company-wide sustainability program. Interests include traveling, service-learning, learning something new, enjoying time with friends, playing music and wake boarding.
