Senator Chambliss served in Congress for twenty years. Senator Chambliss was first elected to Congress to represent Georgia's 8th District in 1994, and was later elected to the US Senate in 2002. Senator Chambliss was vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Inteligence, and a ranking member of the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. Additionally, he served on the Senate Armed Services Committe and the Committee on Rules and Administration.

Each semester, Senator Chambliss's office offered students internship opportunities, giving them the ability to gain tangible and invaluable experience. Interns in the Senator's office were able to attend hearings and briefings, assist in research and preparation of materials, answer constiuent correspondence, and perform many other vital tasks. Additionally, each semester Senator Chambliss took on a Foreign Policy and National Security fellow, a position students could also apply to.

Senator Saxby Chambliss left office in 2015.
