Founded in 2008, the University of Georgia Washington Semester Program (WSP) is the university’s only DC-based academic program open to all undergraduate students and the only DC-based undergraduate program that occurs in the fall and spring semesters. The program provides support for its students from the start of their internship search through the completion of the program by providing career coaching, linked coursework, a shared community, and intentional professional networking opportunities.
The mission of the Washington Semester Program is to provide substantive and immersive academic and professional experiences in the Nation’s Capital. Through full-time internships, weekly seminars, rigorous coursework, and other professional opportunities students gain valuable work experience, build substantial professional networks, and apply classroom learning in real-world settings.
