Senator Bernie Sanders is the senior senator from the state of Vermont. He is the chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Sen. Sanders also serves on the Senate Budget Committee, the Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works, the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Though he was elected as an independent candidate, he caucuses with the Democratic Party.
