Senator Joe Manchin is the senior senator from the state of West Virginia. He chairs the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. He also serves on the Senate Committee on Appropriations, the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Sen. Manchin was elected as a member of the Democratic Party, and though he registered as an independent in 2024, he continues to caucus with the Democrats.
