Summer Opportunities in DC
The Washington Semester does not offer programs during the summer, but eligible students may apply for the following DC programs that take place during the summer months.
Students enrolled in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication can participate in Grady @ DC, a domestic field study program that takes Grady students to Washington for nine weeks during the summer. Program participants take part in a directed study course, find an internship, and live in Delta Hall. Those interested can find more information at Grady @ DC.
History, Design, and the Museum Maymester (New in 2025)
Graduate and undergraduate students in any program can earn Experiential Learning and academic credit through the interdisciplinary History, Design, and the Museum Maymester. Participants will earn six upper-level credit hours in history and textile, merchandising, and interiors, which can apply towards the Museum Studies Certificate. Students will gain behind-the-scenes access to museums and collections in DC and stay in Delta Hall.
Second and third-year students in the Honors College can apply for the in the Honors in Washington Internship Program, which supports students as they intern full-time for nine weeks. Honors in Washington participants also live in the Delta Hall during their stay. For more information, visit Honors in Washington.
Congressional Agricultural Fellowship
Students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences can intern in several Georgia congressional offices through the Congressional Agricultural Fellowship. Participants intern for twelve weeks in the summer and live in Delta Hall. More information about the fellowship can be found at Congressional Agriculture Fellowship.
